Arizona Among Top States for Home Inspection

The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) ranked home inspection laws in the U.S. on 13 different criteria, including testing requirements, standards of practice, codes of ethics, and enforceability.  In the last 10 years, 28 states have enacted some form of home inspection regulation.  Arizona ranked 3rd, with Louisiana 1st since a strong inspection law passed following Hurricane Katrina, New Jersey ranked 2nd.  Other states in the top 10 with the strongest home inspection regulation laws are Texas, Massachusetts, Connecticut, North Carolina, Arkansas, Indiana, and Rhode Island.  (Reported in Arizona REALTOR, February 2008, Volume 30, Issue Number 2.)
